Gigabyte demonstrates extensive power control software with 3-Way PWM
Gigabyte this week gave us an exclusive look at a new
motherboard feature that it will be introducing with its Intel X79-based
products.
The motherboard maker has developed hardware and software that will
allow power-users to exert greater control. Specifically, Gigabyte has a
new Digital PWM (pulse width modulation) controller that can limit and
control current in a circuit.

"Since we are using a brand new Digital PWM controller for the CPU
and memory," Gigabyte explained, "we have developed a fully interactive
3D utility that facilitates adjustment of the 3 dimensions that control
the power delivery to the CPU and memory: Voltage, Phase and Frequency."

Of course, Gigabyte is marketing this new feature as part of its latest motherboards. Specifically, the lineup includes the G1.Assassin 2, X79-UD7, X79-UD5 and X79-UD3.
